3rd International Forum
on Visceral Myopathy 2027
15-19 March 2027
ABOUT THE EVENT
IFVM2027 is the 3rd International meeting dedicated to Visceral Myopathy (VSCM), a myogenic form of chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, a rare severe genetic disease showing variable dysfunction in bladder and gut motility. For more information about the disease: Viti F. et al, Dig. Dis. Sci. 2023 and de Santa Barbara P. et al 2026
VSCM is largely unknown due to its rarity and difficult diagnosis, and is still lacking pharmacological effective treatments.
An international and multidisciplinary taskforce between clinicians, researchers, Patient Advocacy Organizations and companies is necessary to address major VSCM issues. As in its past editions (EFVM2022 and IFVM2024), IFVM2027 represents an opportunity to involve the scientific community to brainstorm and discuss about the state of the art, unmet needs, emerging approaches and futuristic visions related to this pathology.
The present meeting is open to each scientist, clinician or family/PAO that is expert in the disease and wants to participate in the knowledge sharing, or that is not keen on VSCM and wants to learn more about it, to contribute to the scientific advancements or to increase awareness of this condition.
